My wife and I had the pleasure of hosting our wedding at The Promise Gardens this summer. This venue was a dream location for my wife long before we got engaged, and her dreams were fulfilled every step of the way to our wedding day! Our guests were in awe of the venue, from the obviously eye-catching florals, the backdrop of the Adirondacks, the beauty of the barns and all the small details in between. The new White Willow barn was the perfect dinner space for our guests and it didn’t even exist when we first booked the venue! Of course, Terri and Rachel were very pleasant to work with and made sure all our questions were answered in the months, weeks and days leading up to our special day. We had our dream wedding at the Promise Gardens on 10/12. The grounds are meticulously maintained, with every flower and path adding to the beauty of the gardens. Terri was absolutely wonderful in helping make the recommendations for the perfect collaboration of vendors. We could not have imagined a more beautiful wedding and are so incredibly grateful for Terri! The new Willow Barn added a special touch for the first dance, speeches, and dinner.  Afterwards it was an easy transition to the brown barn for dancing until the night ended! Ryan and I are beyond fortunate to have found your venue, Terri! It was the first we visited, actually quite by accident, on our way back home from a camping trip in the Adirondacks (near Keene). We were immediately smitten, but tried our best to do our due research... but sure enough, the beauty of the mountains, the flowers, and the property drew us right back. We loved how there were multiple buildings/barns on site and people could flow in and out and around them. It's a venue that encourages wandering and appreciation of all the little beautiful things that surround us.

Even more incredible is that Terri was planning on building a beautiful white barn where the reception tent used to be, and I was lucky enough to see the architect renders when I went to visit a second time! But, I had another idea for the barn... and when I emailed her a rendering that I did, Terri actually took the time to consider it and ultimately implemented it in the final design for the barn!! I think that the finished barn is absolutely gorgeous, with views towards the mountains and a cozy fireplace on the opposite end, and I'm even more proud that it was a collaborative effort. Terri is a wonderful hostess: firm yet very accommodating, kind, and very smart!

There is no other location I could ever want my greatest memory to be remembered at. Thank you for all of your hard work, Terri and co.! Your venue is an inspiration to me as an aspiring architect. Sending you so much love!

We had our wedding at The Promise Gardens in July 2024. We could not be more satisfied with how it turned out! The new white dinner barn is gorgeous and the breezeway really is the perfect spot for cocktail hour. Our guests raved about this place! I couldn’t recommend having your wedding at The Promise Gardens enough! It is the perfect outdoorsy, rustic, chic, garden party venue in the 518! With the new white willow barn added to the property, it has elevated the space tremendously! This was the only venue that my husband and I looked at and we knew it was the venue for us! Terri and Rachel were amazing to work with! They answered emails quickly whenever we had questions pop up and Terri was in contact with us the entire week leading up to our wedding making sure we had everything ready to go! Promise Gardens delivered a flawless execution of our wedding!! And most impressively, while battling the number one most dreaded wedding day situation - rain. From the ceremony in the beautiful new lofty white washed dinner barn, to cocktail hour throughout the illuminated terrace and rustic dancing barn, the weather was hardly a factor. PG’s all-hands-on-deck (yet inconspicuous) transformation of the dinner barn from ceremony seating to dinner table setting all within the cocktail hour was skillful. Even in the midst of the rain there were plenty of locations within the venue to take photos (rustic barn, bridal suite, garden terrace, lush vestibule steps, etc.) A critical new addition to PG is the roofed patio off the dinner barn that stages a secondary bar so the wedding party can stay hydrated in the fresh air, but most importantly doubles as a covered location for an unencumbered backdrop of garden/mountain landscape views in case of inclement weather. We were fortunate enough to have a window where the rain stopped to capture photos throughout the gardens - of course the unique distinction of PG - but honestly might even prefer the pictures taken within the intimate covered venue offerings. Next, having a secondary location in the dancing barn for the post reception celebration is the only way to go. It encourages the wedding party to get up from their tables and take it to the next level. A good band/DJ is critical, so don't hold back on hiring the best band in town!  The layout of the party barn sets the stage for up close and center dancing, while also offering enough room under the same roof for those not dancing to hang back while still feeling like part of the action. And don’t worry, even in the heat of a summer celebration, the cross breeze between open barn doors and ceiling fans helps cool down the dance floor. Our only critique would be that we couldn’t stay longer, but just make sure you have sufficient transportation (stocked with drinks) and an after party destination solidified for the next phase of the celebration! June 8th, 2024 - the most magical day of our lives thanks to Terri & her beautiful creation at the promise gardens!!!  Our wedding was an absolute dream! It felt like a fairytale, guests from all over were in awe of how breathtaking this venue is! The views of the three sister mountains & all of the flowers planted there plus the rustic farm feel makes this venue an absolutely magical place!! We also got lucky that renovations were done for this season and the new white willow barn is STUNNING!! It’s so light, super spacious with climate control (for the brides getting married in the hot summer weather) & beautiful greenery all throughout. I wouldn’t think another second about having your wedding here. It was seriously a dream come true & our guests are still raving over it ☺️☺️☺️
And I couldn’t help but notice a review about the location.. this venue is a hidden gem. I have been visiting lake George since I’m a baby & always wanted to get married up there. TPG is a short 18 min drive from the village of lake George, with hundreds of hotels for guests to stay at! Thank you to Terri and her team for all your hard work to make TPG a dream come true for us!! ♥️
