Booking a venue is not just about loving a view. It is about knowing what the day will look like once you have a guest list, a rain plan, and a timeline that needs to work.

At The Promise Gardens of the Adirondacks, we host weddings on a property with multiple spaces, including The Meadows, The Secret Garden, The White Willow Barn, The Hudson Barn, and The Garden Terrace that connects the barns. Before you book, here are the details that help couples decide if we are the right fit.

What To Know Before You Book

Before you fall in love with the photos, it helps to know the rules, what is included, and how the spaces actually work on the wedding day.

Your Guest Count Sets the Tone

If you are planning for up to 150 guests, we can accommodate that. It is a number worth being honest about early, because it affects how you use the barns, and whether you keep dinner and dancing in one space or move between spaces.

We also offer micro style weddings during the week for 50 to 100 guests, on select dates.

You Should Understand the Space Flow

Couples often like having options for where each part of the day happens, instead of trying to make one room do everything.

Ceremonies can happen in The Meadows, where the Three Sister Mountains surround the meadows, with flowering pear and apple trees lining the back. Another option is The Secret Garden, which many couples also use for a first look and portraits. The antique blue doors are part of that space, and they give you an easy photo moment that already feels like you.

For receptions, The White Willow Barn can host dinner and dancing. The Hudson Barn is another key space with an impressive crystal chandelier, a 20 foot bar, and lounge seating.

What is Included So You Can Budget Smart

Some venues feel simple until you realize how many rentals you still need. Here, several basics are already included.

For your reception, we include hand crafted farm tables with mahogany Chiavari chairs. There is also a 12 foot farm table made from original beams from the barn.

For ceremonies, we include natural wood folding chairs with white padded seats, and light wooden garden chairs with white padded seats are also included.

We also include high top tables for cocktail hour, plus Adirondack style men’s and ladies restrooms. Accessibility matters too; there is a handicap accessible walkway up to The Hudson Barn and handicap bathrooms. The property is wheelchair accessible with ADA compliant facilities.

You will also see a few extras listed as additional offerings, including the champagne wall and vineyard wooden chairs.

Rain Plan Options are Built In

If weather changes plans, ceremonies can be held in either the Hudson Barn or the White Willow Barn. Having indoor options ready means you are not scrambling to rewrite the day.

Catering and Bar Rules are Not Flexible

This is one of the biggest things to know before you fall in love with the spaces.

All catering, including food and beverages, must be arranged through catering companies from our preferred vendors list. Outside caterers and outside alcohol are not permitted. If you already have a caterer in mind, check this policy first.

Planner Requirements are Part of Booking

We require that you hire a wedding planner from our exclusive list, for the month and day of coordination. A month out planner is required, and caterer day of assistants do not qualify as planners.

This is a practical requirement, and it affects your vendor lineup, so it should be part of your decision from day one.

Parking and Transportation Should Be Planned Early

Parking is available for up to 30 cars, and shuttle service is required for guest safety due to local road conditions. For larger guest counts, we require couples to hire a transportation company.

If transportation is already part of your plan, you are in a good spot. If it is not, you will want to build it in early.

Photo Spots You Can Put on Your Timeline

If photos matter to you, plan for the places that are already built into the property.

The walkway to The Wooded Creek is used for private first looks and portraits. The creek itself is also a go to for portraits. The Wishing Fountain sits along stone pathways through the gardens, which makes it easy to include without disappearing for a long stretch. After dinner, the fire pit with hand crafted Adirondack chairs is another natural place for guests to gather.

To secure a preferred date, it is best to book 12 to 18 months in advance.
