Our indoor and outdoor spaces flow naturally through the day, with a ceremony in the meadows, cocktails on the Garden Terrace or White Willow patio, dinner in the White Willow Barn, and dancing in the Hudson Barn beneath its crystal chandelier. With space for up to 150 guests, every detail is designed for comfort, beauty, and celebration.

Spaces Designed for Every Part of Your Day

Our property includes three restored barns, each with a distinct role. The Hudson Barn is where the energy reaches its peak. It’s a historic 1800s structure with an impressive crystal chandelier, lounge seating, and a generous garden terrace. The 20-foot bar quickly becomes a favorite gathering spot during cocktail hour and after dinner.

The White Willow Barn is new for our 2024 season and serves as your dining space. It’s air-conditioned, which Rhode Island guests appreciate in July and August, and the patio out front is ideal for cocktails while your caterer sets up the meadows. Depending on your guest count, the White Willow can also host dancing, so you have options.

Between the two barns runs the Garden Terrace, a covered walkway with hanging bistro lights and stamped concrete underfoot. It’s where people gather between courses, where your photographer catches candid moments, and where older guests sit comfortably while the younger crowd moves back and forth.

The Grace Barn is your prep space. It opened in 2023 and was designed specifically for you and the girls to relax and primp before you say “I do”! Antique mirrors, beauty stations, and enough room for your wedding party to spread out without tripping over suitcases. It’s a comfortable, stylish alternative to crowded hotel rooms or temporary prep spaces.

What You Get With Your Booking

The Promise Gardens includes handcrafted farm tables with mahogany Chiavari chairs for your reception, as well as natural wood folding chairs with white, padded seats for your ceremony. The custom wooden arbor in the meadows faces the mountains, so you don’t need to rent or build anything for your vows. High top tables are set out for cocktail hour, and we provide the fire pit surrounded by Adirondack chairs for late evening conversation.

You also get air conditioning in the White Willow Barn and the Grace Barn, as well as commercial heaters and fans for the patios and the Hudson Barn, in case the weather changes. Our restrooms are Adirondack-style, and we’ve built a handicap-accessible walkway up to the Hudson Barn with ADA-compliant facilities.

Chair setup and takedown are not included, but there’s no extra charge to use the ceremony site. We also offer White Willow Chairs and a Champagne Wall if you want to add a different look.

Service and Planning Requirements

The Promise Gardens requires you to hire a wedding planner from our Preferred Vendor Page. That planner handles the timeline, coordinates with your caterer, manages setup, and keeps everything moving on your wedding day. A caterer’s day of assistance doesn’t count. This is a full-month-out coordinator who knows our property and has worked here before.

All catering, food, and beverages must come from companies listed on our Preferred Vendor Page. We don’t allow outside caterers or outside alcohol. That policy exists because we’ve built relationships with professionals who understand our barns, our timeline, and our green venue rules.

Venue Policies and Guest Guidelines

The Promise Gardens hosts weddings on Fridays through Sundays from May through October. Micro style weddings for 50 to 100 guests are available on select weekdays. We don’t offer winter weddings.

Parking holds up to 30 cars, so shuttle service is required. Local roads wind through the Adirondacks, and we prioritize guest safety, especially after cocktails.

We’re a green venue. Only biodegradable materials are allowed; therefore, no confetti or fake flower petals are permitted. We use battery-powered candles only. Real candles, fireworks, and sparklers are not allowed. Bonfires require advance permission directly from the fire department and may not be possible during drier weather.

A limited number of children may attend, allowing couples to include close family members so everyone can enjoy the night off and celebrate you!. The venue welcomes pets for the ceremony, though we ask that they be taken off the property once the celebration begins.

The Meadows, the Secret Garden, and the Wooded Creek

The Meadows is where most ceremonies happen. Flowering pear and apple trees line the back, and the Three Sisters Mountains create a backdrop that doesn’t need enhancement. Your guests sit in those white padded chairs, the breeze rolls over from the hills, and your officiant doesn’t need a microphone because the natural acoustics carry your vows clearly.

The Secret Garden offers another option for your first look or portraits. Our elegant antique blue doors, painted in that deep, weathered blue, are surrounded by greenery and blooming flowers.

The wooded creek runs along the property, providing a gentle sound of water that is both soothing and serene, creating a peaceful backdrop for portraits or quiet moments during your celebration. Stone pathways wind through romantic gardens, featuring the Wishing Fountain as their centerpiece. After dinner, your guests drift to the fire pit, settle into the Adirondack chairs, and stay longer than they planned.
